I was born and raised in London and trained as an architectural interior designer at The Interior Design School. I'm also an architectural color consultant and am deeply passionate about using colour in spaces to enhance our mood and experiences. My design work has taken me through high-end residential design, hospitality and a variety of creative environments before bringing me to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Since establishing Claire Taylor Design in Berkeley, I have had the pleasure of working with homeowners and local businesses to transform spaces into environments that reflect their lives, personalities and aspirations.

I specialize in creating warm, welcoming and artistic spaces with particular attention to how interior elements like lighting, texture, colour and finish materials affect our emotional responses.

I'm inspired by California's natural beauty, the character and soul of old homes, antiques with a story and the endless ideas I discover through travel, art and everyday life.

My British background naturally influences my approach, but so does living in California. I love the balance between the two: spaces that are thoughtful but relaxed, layered but not overdone, timeless yet personal.
