ANAVIV'S TABLE
Richmond, CA - Chef's Table Dining Experience

In collaboration with my friend and local artist, Kirsten Piroth, whose art adorns these walls, I helped this professional chef transform his office-like fine dining room into a warm, cozy and intimate space on a budget. Despite the limited natural light in this boxy commercial building, we embraced the darkness and leaned into a rich, moody palette to create a cozy, cocoon-like atmosphere.  Rather than fighting the constraints, we used deep tones, rich wood, layered textures and warm lighting to transform the space into an intimate retreat which would encourage conversation and conviviality while tasting the incredible flavors and gourmet food that Anaviv's Table offers.  The result is a private, enveloping environment that feels intentional and inviting - proof that even in less-than-ideal conditions, thoughtful design can turn a challenge into a strength. Our client loved the vibe and colors so much that he repositioned his entire branding to mirror these tones.
