Euclid Ave (in progress)

This gem in the Berkeley Hills is being extensively renovated, starting with the awkward family bathroom.  It originally had a dark tile, poor storage and outdated fixtures and fittings - time for a total renovation!  The homeowners wanted their challenging, narrow, darkish bathroom to feel less claustrophobic without changing the layout.

With much improved functionality to the shower, I put in a rain head as well as a handheld spray for easy cleaning, and a semi-enclosed glass shower screen with a pivot door allowing easy access whether bathing or showering.  I designed a niche with a penny round tile that paired well with the vertical subways, giving the eye a "break" from the linear tile layout. The vanity with drawer storage provides excellent space for all things bathroom, and I also put in a mirrored recessed medicine cabinet for easy eye level access for lotions and potions. My design inspiration was to create the feeling of a timeless, airy and light space while giving the impression of a larger bathroom.
